About This Recipe
These Garlic Steak Bites are a great way to mix up your protein source for the week! If you have never been one to crave steak for meals, that may very well change after you try these. I know it did for me!
I also never realized how easy it could be to cook steak before these steak bites. They are so good and SO easy, even a beginner cook can nail it! And your husband, family, friends, etc will be asking for you to make it again and again because they are THAT good!
But seriously, they make the perfect easy protein to pair with so many different things! We typically like to enjoy them as is (everything is funner in bite size form!) with our favorite sides, like Roasted Potatoes, Green Beans or a Simple Salad.
But you can also use them for tacos, fajitas, salads, bowls… you name it!
Plus they’re ready in 12 minutes with just some steak and pantry staples! We love keeping some steak stocked in the freezer to pull out and make these when we don’t have anything else on hand (just let the steak defrost in the fridge overnight for best results!)

Why You’ll Love These Garlic Steak Bites (Air Fryer or Skillet!)
- The easiest and quickest way to enjoy steak for any meal!
- All you need is steak and a handful of pantry staples!
- Packed with protein! And a family favorite!
- Can be made in the air fryer or on the stovetop! Ready in just 12 minutes!
- Perfect for tacos, wraps, salads, or just to enjoy as is with your favorite sides.
- Steak – I used top sirloin filet, cut into bite size pieces. Sirloin steak is also referred to as short loin, Strip steak, Kansas City steak and NY Strip. Flank steak or beef tenderloin would also be good choices.
- Olive oil – You can also use avocado oil or any oil of choice here.
- Brown Sugar – just a little bit to add some sweetness! You can use a sugar substitute like Truvia brown sugar if you prefer.
- Seasonings – salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder and parsley.
- Herbs – I used fresh parsley for garnishing and to give it some more fresh flavor but the herbs are optional. If you don’t have any on hand you can add some more dried parsley on top if you want!
- Garlic Butter steak bites: To make garlic butter steak bites, use 1-2 Tbsp of melted butter in place of the olive oil.

How to Make
- In a small bowl, toss steak with olive oil and seasonings until evenly coated and set aside.
- Bring a skillet to medium heat and spray with nonstick cooking spray. When warm, add steak. Cook for 7-8 minutes for well done steak, stirring a couple of times through. Or, sear the outside of the steak and cook until your desired internal color/temperature.
- Store: Store steak bites in an air tight container in the fridge for 3-5 days.
- To reheat: Reheat steak bites in a skillet for 4-5 minutes or until warmed through. You can also reheat steak bites in the air fryer at 350F for 2-3 minutes or until warmed through.
What To Serve With Garlic Steak Bites
- Potatoes – Try these Air Fryer Potatoes, Parmesan Roasted Potatoes or Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
- Vegetables – Like Air Fryer Broccoli, Air Fryer Green Beans, Roasted Cauliflower and Carrots, or these Maple Glazed Carrots all pair great!
- Soup – Healthy French Onion Soup, Healthy Potato Soup, broccoli and cheddar soup
- Pasta or rice – Can’t go wrong with these 15-Minute Buttered Noodles or microwave rice for a quick side!
- Salad – Any salad would go great but I love these steak bites with Caesar Salad, my Shredded Brussels Salad and this Simple Salad with Goat Cheese and Cranberries.
- Bread – garlic bread, Honey Butter Yeast Rolls, bread in any form!

What to serve with steak bites?
There are so many options! These steak bites are great served with potatoes (baked, roasted, mashed), soup, pasta, salad, rice or vegetables. You can even use them for tacos, fajitas and wraps! See the section right below this for all my favorite serving ideas!
How long with steak bites last in the fridge?
Steak bites will stay fresh in the fridge for 3-5 days.
What cut of meat is best for steak bites?
To get the most tender steak bites, I would recommend sirloin (also called strip steak or NY strip), or beef tenderloin. Flank steak, ribeye or chuck steak would also be great options.
Can I use stew meat to make steak bites?
Stew meat typically contains a tougher cut of beef more suited for stews. You can use it, but I would recommend using a more tender cut of meat, like sirloin or tenderloin if you can to get the most tender steak bites!
