About This Recipe

This wrap came to mind one day when making my usual Jammin’ Crunch Wrap for breakfast one morning. Monte Cristo’s are my JAM. Pun intended 😉 And just knew I had to dedicate a special post and recipe to this baby!

I kept my egg white + cauliflower rice patty has the base, because let’s be real, that combo is the best thing that has happened since peanut butter and jelly. Since bread and cheese. Since jelly and cheese!

Okay you get the idea. But seriously, the volume this patty packs makes my raging appetite very happy. And after adding ranch seasoning to it… the flavor is absolutely delicious!

And while we’re talking about flavor… switching up the strawberry for the raspberry jam and eating it alongside the ham (alongside the cheese and bread) Wow!

The powdered sugar was just the icing on the cake! Or in the case, the sugar sprinkle on the sammie. Okay enough bad puns for one day. 😂

To change it up a little more, I also used a white American cheese slice instead of my usual 2% American cheese slice. Dang have y’all had these??? Next level cheese slices for sure.

I seriously could go on and on about how amazing this wrap is. I insist that you at least try it once so you know what I am talking about here! And if you love this wrap, don’t miss my Starbucks-copycat Spinach and Feta Wrap or my easy Meal Prep Breakfast Sandwiches!

Why You’ll Love This Monte Cristo Crunch Wrap

  • The best unexpected combo you never knew you needed!
  • Bread, cheese, ranch seasoned egg whites, ham, raspberry jam. THE FLAVOR CANNOT BE TAMED.
  • Easy and quick breakfast!
  • Macro-friendly (lower carb, lower fat, higher protein) than your standard breakfast crunch wrap!
  • Just requires a handful of staple ingredients!

Ingredients and Substitutions

  • Lavash bread or flat wrap of some sort – my favorite ones to use are Cut Da Carb or Joseph’s lavash bread. The nutrition below is using Joseph’s lavash bread since that one is sold at grocery stores and more readily available (Cut Da Carb wraps can only be ordered from their website). I did also include a “naked” wrap version with just the contents of the wrap factored in for a separate MFP entry if you need to use another type of bread. Just search “Lauren Fit Foodie Monte Cristo Crunch Wrap Naked.”
  • Egg whites
  • Cauliflower rice – I actually prefer frozen because its fresher but any will work!
  • Ranch seasoning – you could also make your own seasoning to flavor the egg white cauli patty but ranch is just so dang good!
  • Laughing cow cheese
  • White American cheese slice
  • Thick cut sliced ham – I used Natural Choice cherrywood
  • Confectioners sugar – for topping!

How To Make

  1. Spray a microwaveable safe bowl with cooking spray. Add frozen cauliflower rice, egg whites, and ranch seasoning. Gently stir initially to combine.
  2. Microwave for 2 minutes to form an “egg white-cauli” patty.
  3. In the meantime, prepare lavash bread on top of a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Begin by spreading the laughing cow cheese and then the raspberry jam evenly in JUST the center of the wrap.
  4. Add the ham slice on top of cheese and jam in the center of the wrap. Then add egg white-cauli patty.
  5. Add the slice cheese on top, then fold into a crunch wrap. Spray both sides with cooking spray.
  6. Place in the oven on broil about 2-3 minutes or until wrap is golden brown. Cook on both sides, watching closely not to let the wrap burn.
  7. When each side is golden brown, take out and let cool for 5-10 minutes. Then top with confectioner’s sugar and enjoy!

How To Fold A Crunch Wrap

If you need help folding your crunch wrap, you can check out this short tutorial for How To Fold A Crunch Wrap.

And if all else fails, just fold like a burrito. It will still taste yummy regardless, I promise. 😂

What To Serve With Your Monte Cristo Crunch Wrap

  • Air-fried broccoli, zucchini, or cauliflower
  • Roasted potatoes or sweet potatoes
  • Chips of any kind
  • Fruit salad! Sliced apples, strawberries, oranges, whatever floats you boat.
  • And you can never go wrong with a side salad!

FAQ: Monte Cristo Crunch Wrap

How do I fold a crunch wrap?

To fold a crunch wrap, take a rectangular-shaped wrap like Joseph’s or Cut Da Carb (but any works) and place all the filling in the center of the wrap. Then take one corner and start folding toward the center, and rotating until you’ve folded all corners to the center and have a disc-shaped sandwich. If you need help, check out this How To Fold A Crunch Wrap video for a quick tutorial.

Do I use a whole Joseph’s Lavash wrap?

Yes, this recipe is written with a whole lavash wrap.

Why does my egg patty keep getting burnt/falling apart?

If you’re having trouble making your egg white patty on the stove, I’d recommend trying to make it in the microwave! Just spray a bowl with cooking spray, add half the cauliflower rice (pre-heated), ranch seasoning, and half the egg whites, then microwave for two minutes. Then repeat with the remainder! That is how I usually do it now because its easier, then I just cut the bread in half so I have two wraps.
