How To Make
- Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F.
- Once preheated, add nuggets and air fry for 8-10 minutes or until crisp.
- Add 1/4 of everything to four bowls, or store components separately and assemble when ready to eat.
- Serve with avocado lime dressing, or dressing of choice, and enjoy!
Store salads in fridge in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Store dressing separately. If I’m meal prepping these salads, I love using these little 2oz cups with lids to store my dressing in individual portions. You can also store the components separately and assemble when ready to eat.
Helpful Tips
- Store ingredients separately and assemble when ready. For maximum freshness, I like to assemble my salad right before eating! This helps the lettuce stay fresh and the breading on the chicken nuggets to stay warm and crispy!
- How to prep salads for on-the-go: Add all salad ingredients to a container and store chicken nuggets and dressing separately. I like to use these 2-oz. containers to store dressing when I am taking it on the go. Just heat chicken nuggets when ready to eat then add to salad with the dressing!
- Save time: By using pre-cooked bacon and store-bought hard-boiled eggs (highly recommend at least cooking the bacon for the most crispiness!)
What other dressings can I use for this cobb salad recipe?
You can use any different dressing you want for this recipe! I love pairing it with the lightened up avocado lime dressing but you can also use my Skinny Honey Mustard, Creamy Balsamic Dressing, or your favorite dressing of choice!
Can I use grilled chicken for this salad?
Yes! If you prefer grilled chicken (or just want to save a few extra calories) you can use any type of cooked chicken! Try this salad with any leftover Blackened Chicken Tenders, Crispy Air Fryer Chicken, Grilled Pickle-Brined Chicken or Grilled Balsamic Chicken!
What’s the main difference in a classic cobb salad and a market salad?
A classic recipe for cobb salad typically includes chopped greens, tomatoes, bacon, chicken, hard-boiled eggs, and avocado. A generic chef salad is normally made with generic salad ingredients like cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, then meats such as ham, bacon and cheddar cheese. This recipe was inspired by Chick-fil-A’s version of a cobb salad that includes freshly breaded chicken, served on a fresh bed of mixed greens, topped with roasted corn kernels, a blend of shredded Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, crumbled bacon, sliced hard-boiled egg and grape tomatoes.
Why should I make homemade chick-fil a cobb salad at home?
Just like any fast food copycat recipe, when you make it at home you can put your own twist on it! Easily adjust the ingredients or proportions to meet your preferences or add your favorite toppings for a unique flavor! Plus, it’s a lot cheaper and you know you are eating quality ingredients without all the extra oils or additives. Plus, when you make these recipes at home you can enjoy them whenever you want! Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F.
- Once preheated, add nuggets and air fry for 8-10 minutes or until crisp.
- Add 1/4 of everything to four bowls, or store components separately and assemble when ready to eat.

Equipment
- Air Fryer optional
Notes
- Place eggs in a large saucepan. Cover them with cool water by 1 inch. Bring water to a boil (for easier to peel eggs, add 1/2 Tbsp salt and 1 Tbsp vinegar). Once at a rolling boil, set the timer for exactly 10 minutes (for perfect hard-boiled eggs) then remove from heat. Run eggs over cold water for a few minutes until all the hot water is gone and you’re left with the cold water. Let eggs sit in the cool water for 10 minutes until they reach room temperature.
