About This Recipe
This Cream Cheese Caramel Apple Toffee Dip is the ultimate easy dessert for fall. It has the perfect combination of creamy, caramel, and crunchy, with a little tang from the tart apples to balance everything out! It’s also one of those recipes that looks fancy on a platter but takes minimal effort. No baking, no stovetop, and no candy thermometer required. Just mix, layer, and chill!
Dessert dips are one of my favorite hacks for the busy holiday season! They’re always a crowd favorite, and they’re so easy to make (and can usually be made in advance, like this easy dip!). Why You’ll Love This Cream Cheese Caramel Apple Dip
- Quick & Easy: A decadent tasting dessert ready in just 15 minutes. No baking or cooking needed!
- Crowd pleaser: This Cream Cheese Caramel Apple Toffee Dip is always a huge hit with both kids and adults.
- Great to make ahead: Perfect for prepping ahead of parties or holidays.
- Customizable: Swap the toppings or dipper options to fit your preferences.
- Lightened up: Made with a few lighter swaps but still tastes delicious and indulgent!

- Cream cheese: I used reduced-fat cream cheese, but regular or dairy-free both work well. Make sure your cream cheese is softened so it will mix properly with the Cool Whip.
- Lite Cool Whip: Make sure your Cool Whip is thawed so it will easily mix with the cream cheese. I used Lite Cool Whip, but regular works. Use dairy-free whipped topping if needed.
- Powdered sugar: You can use regular powdered sugar or your favorite alternative sweetener like Swerve or Truvia.
- Caramel dip: You can use homemade or your favorite store-bought brand. Heat in the microwave for a few seconds first if it’s too thick to drizzle or spread.
- Heath milk chocolate + English toffee bits: The toffee bits are perfect for adding crunch and chocolatey richness. Use crushed toffee or chocolate chips if you can’t find the Heath bits.
- Granny Smith apples: I love how the tartness of the Granny Smith apples pairs perfectly with the sweet dip. However, you can also use Honeycrisp or Pink Lady apples for a sweeter option, or use different dippers altogether!
- Dairy-free: Use a dairy-free cream cheese, whipped topping, and dairy-free chocolate chips to make this completely dairy-free.
- Lighter option: Try using fat-free cream cheese and sugar-free caramel dip.
- Add crunch: You can top this creamy dip with extra chopped pecans or peanuts for even more crunchy texture.
- Different dippers: Serve with pretzels, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or sliced pears instead of (or in addition to) apples.
How To Make
The full printable recipe is below, but let me walk you through the process so you know what to expect when you’re making it!

1. In a medium bowl, add the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar.

2. Mix until there are no lumps.

3. Add the (thawed) Cool Whip.

4. Mix until smooth.

5. Evenly spread the mixture into a serving dish (I used a 9-inch pie dish). Then, drizzle caramel dip over the cream cheese layer. Heat in the microwave for a few seconds first, if necessary, to make it easier to drizzle/spread. Sprinkle toffee bits generously over top.

6. Serve with apple slices + your favorite dippers and enjoy!
Store leftover dip covered or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. If making ahead, wait to add the toffee bits until just before serving so they stay crunchy.
Helpful Tips
❄️Prepare ingredients: Make sure your cream cheese is softened and your Cool Whip is thawed before making. I like to let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before mixing to avoid lumps.
🍮Heat caramel: You may need to heat the caramel in the microwave for a few seconds to make it easier to drizzle/spread. Just be careful not to heat it too much, or it’ll be too runny.
⏰Make ahead of time: This dip actually gets better after chilling for an hour or two, so it’s the perfect dip to make in advance, especially during the busy holiday season. You can prepare everything and just add the crunchy toffee bits right before serving if you want them to stay a little crunchy.
🧊Keep stored in the fridge: Make sure to keep this dip stored in the fridge until ready to eat.
🍏Keep apples fresh: If you want to prevent the apples from browning while serving, you can toss sliced them in a little lemon juice or pineapple juice before serving.

Can I use homemade caramel sauce for this Cream Cheese Caramel Apple Toffee Dip?
Absolutely. If you have a favorite homemade caramel, it’ll make this dip even more indulgent. Just make sure it’s thick enough to layer without running.
What if I don’t have Cool Whip?
You can use whipped cream instead, but just note that it won’t be as thick and creamy as if it’s made with Cool Whip.
Can I freeze this cream cheese apple dip?
I don’t recommend freezing this toffee apple dip as the texture of the cream cheese mixture can change after thawing.
