About This Recipe

These Oreo Cookie Dough Bites are about as close to perfection as it gets! No joke, they just like Tollhouse cookie dough! Buttery dough with hints of vanilla and sugary crunch with each bite, this particular cookie dough bite recipe has crushed up Oreos mixed in!!

So they’re insanely yummy, yes, but not only that, they’re lightened up at just 64 calories per bite! To lighten these dough bites up, we used light butter, used less flour, used less brown sugar and replaced the brown sugar with a natural sugar alternative.

These Oreo Cookie Dough Bites are also super easy to adapt to make gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan.

Love how easy these protein bites are? Try my other delicious, lightened up recipes like my Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bites, Monster Cookie Protein Balls or my No-Bake Oreo Balls!

Why You’ll Love These Oreo Cookie Dough Bites

  • They taste JUST like what you would imagine OREO cookie dough to taste like🤤
  • Easy to make + made in just 5 minutes!!
  • Only 6 ingredients.
  • Small batch but easy to double or triple!!
  • Lightened up and low in calories
  • Freezer-friendly too!!! Make a batch for now and later!

Ingredients and Substitutions

  • Oat flour – you can buy oat flour or even just blend quick oats until they are a flour-like consistency! To make gluten-free, just make sure your oats are certified gluten-free.
  • Protein powder – I used PEScience Gourmet Vanilla. Any flavor would technically work, but a more neutral flavor is best to achieve that classic ‘cookie dough’ flavor. For all PEScience products, you can use my affiliate code Laurenfitfoodie to save 10% on your purchase.
  • Brown Sugar Blend – I used Truvia. Feel free to substitute with normal brown sugar or another brown sugar alternative.
  • Light Butter – I used I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Light. If you need to substitute, use normal butter or oil.
  • Vanilla
  • Oreos – can use gluten-free Oreo’s if needed!

How To Make

  1. Add all the ingredients (except the Oreos) to a bowl. Using a fork, mix/mash to combine the dough. It will feel dry at first, that is normal; keep combining until all the dry ingredients are incorporated.
  2. Once combined, fold in the crushed Oreos until mixed in evenly.
  3. Roll into 8 balls and refrigerate for 1 hour before enjoying. Trust me, it’s worth the wait! They are so much better chilled!

How To Enjoy Oreo Cookie Dough Bites

  • As a pre or post workout snack or afternoon pick-me-up. Have 2-3 bites for a little protein packed snack! These bites are perfect for a little pep of energy without being too heavy and are a great source of fiber to keep you satisfied. They are good snacks to eat on the go too!
  • Post lunch or dinner sweet treat. Curb your sweet tooth craving if you’re not feeling a full on dessert.
  • With Greek yogurt. These cookie dough bites pair so well with yogurt! Eat alongside your yogurt for an afternoon snack or use them to top your Jello Yogurt Bowl
  • On top of your ice cream, Protein Fluff, Birthday Cake Protein Milkshake, or Cookies and Cream Protein Milkshake.
  • As cookie dough stuffing. Let your cookie dough bite chill at room temperature for 5-10 minutes. Stuff it between two cookies and enjoy a cookie dough stuffed sandwich!

FAQ: Oreo Cookie Dough Bites

Why are my protein balls dry and crumbly?

Don’t worry, this can happen! Not all protein powders have the same consistency and some will absorb liquid more easier than others, which might cause your protein ball mixture to seem a little dry or crumbly. Just add a little water or milk, about a teaspoon at a time, until they are easier to roll into balls. Add liquid slowly – you also don’t want to over due it!

How do I store these cookie dough bites?

Store these cookie dough bites in an airtight container in the fridge. You can also freeze for up to 3 months.

Can I make these cookie dough bites into protein bars?

Sure! Instead of rolling the mixture into balls, you can press the cookie dough in a pan. Refrigerate or freeze for about 30 minutes or so, then cut into bars!
