About This Recipe
This Mixed Berry Fruit Salad is the kind of recipe that’s as simple as it is stunning. It’s made with a combination of fresh berries like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, which are all naturally sweet and bursting with fresh flavor. And because berries are naturally high in fiber and antioxidants, this is a dish that tastes just as good as it makes you feel.

The best part? This fruit salad comes together in just minutes—no cooking required, which is perfect on hot summer days. It’s fresh, vibrant, and packed with nutrients, so you’ll find yourself making on repeat all summer long.

How To Make
The full printable recipe is below, but let me walk you through the process so you know what to expect when you’re making it!

1. Rinse the berries and drain well. Layer a few paper towels on the table to spread the berries out to dry. Gently blot to make sure they’re dried well (so the honey dressing shines through!)

2. Slice the strawberries and place all the berries in a large bowl.

3. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, lemon juice and lemon zest.

4. Pour the honey lemon dressing over the fruit and toss to evenly coat.

5. Toss evenly to coat and transfer to a serving bowl.

6. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired and enjoy!
Keep covered and stored in the fridge until ready to serve. This berry salad recipe is best enjoyed fresh, but will last in the fridge for 1-2 days.
Helpful Tips
🫐Use ripe berries: Using fresh, ripe berries will give this salad the best taste and texture. Look for firm, vibrant berries without mushy spots.
🫧Wash and dry thoroughly: Make sure to wash and thoroughly dry your berries with a paper towel to avoid sogginess in your fruit salad.
🍓Slice the strawberries: Remove the green tops and slice the strawberries into halves or quarters (depending on the size of the berries) so they mix more evenly with the other fruits.
🥣Avoid overmixing: Be careful when mixing to not overmix. The berries can be delicate, especially the raspberries, so just toss gently to avoid crushing them.
🧊Chill before serving: I like to let this easy fruit salad recipe chill in the fridge for 30-60 minutes before serving to really help the flavors come together!
⏱️Best enjoyed fresh: This berry salad is best the first day it’s made. If making ahead, wait to add the lemon honey dressing until just before serving to prevent the berries from getting too soft.

Can I use frozen berries for this salad?
Using fresh berries is going to make this fruit salad taste the best. I would not recommend using frozen fruit as it will get soft and mushy as soon as it thaws, which we don’t want!
How far in advance can I make this recipe?
This simple berry salad salad is best enjoyed fresh, but you can prep it up to 4–6 hours in advance. Store it in the fridge and wait to add any citrus dressing until about 30 minutes before serving to keep the berries from getting too soft.
What’s the best way to keep this fresh berry salad from getting mushy?
Make sure to thoroughly dry your berries after washing. Then handle the berries gently, especially raspberries and blackberries so they don’t get crushed while mixing. Wait to add the dressing right before serving to preserve their texture.
