This Garlic Butter Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus is the most elegant appetizer or savory side dish! It's perfect for special occasions or just a weeknight meal. It's super easy to make, ready in just 30 minutes and only requires 5 ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 18 asparagus spears
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (28g) melted
  • 2-3 garlic cloves minced - I used frozen garlic cubes
  • 4 oz. thinly sliced prosciutto
  • Grated parmesan cheese optional for garnishing

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Cut woody ends off asparagus (about 2-3 inches) and discard; then add to the baking sheet. Spray the asparagus with cooking spray and toss to evenly coat.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and minced garlic. Brush over the asparagus.
  • Cut the prosciutto slices in half. Then working one spear at a time, wrap the prosciutto in a diagonal motion around the middle part of the asparagus.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes, checking frequently at the end since thickness will vary.
  • Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper, if desired, and serve!

Notes

The thicker the asparagus the better! Try to find thicker asparagus spears as they will balance out the taste better and remain sturdier when cooked. If you can't find thick asparagus, you can always bundle several thinner spears together with one slice of prosciutto!
