Apple Cider Margarita with Cinnamon Sugar Rim

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz. silver tequila
  • 1.5 oz. apple cider
  • 1 Tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tsp agave
  • cinnamon stick optional garnish
  • star of anise optional garnish

Cinnamon Sugar Rim:

  • 1 Tbsp turbinado sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • Lime wedge

Instructions

  • Combine the turbinado sugar and cinnamon on a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it in the sugar. Then fill your glass with ice and set aside.
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, apple cider, lime juice and agave. Shake well.
  • Garnish and serve.

Notes

To make this drink non-alcoholic: substitute the tequila with some sparkling water, club soda, or ginger beer. You could also use alcohol-free tequila.
There are technically 16g of carbs in this drink, but as we know, we have to account for alcohol calories too (alcohol is the forth macro), so I went ahead and divided the total number of calories by 4 to account for all the macros in this drink.
