These Strawberry Glazed Donuts are one of my OG recipes and super similar to my Chocolate Glazed Donut recipe! They're just as easy to make and also only 50 calories per donut. Quickly whip up a batch and enjoy them all week as breakfast, a snack or dessert!!

Ingredients

Strawberry Donuts

  • 1/4 cup vanilla protein powder (31g) I used PEScience
  • 1/4 cup granulated sweetener (48g) I used Swerve
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (30g) can sub for Bob red mill 1:1 gluten free flour
  • 2 Tbsp coconut flour (14g)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp sugar free strawberry jello gelatin mix (2g)
  • Dash of salt
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce (180g)
  • 1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp egg whites (90g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Glaze:

  • 6 Tbsp confectioner's sugar (56g) I used Swerve
  • 1 Tbsp cold water (15g)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray eight cavities of a donut pan(s) with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Mix the dry ingredients together (protein powder through salt). Add the applesauce, egg whites and vanilla and mix well to combine (I used a hand mixer for this but you don’t have to).
  • Pour batter into the donut cavities filling only 7/8 of the way full. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  • To make the glaze, mix the confectioners sugar and cold water together.
  • Let the donuts cool for a 10 minutes in pan then remove from the pan and spread the glaze on top. Allow the glaze to set for 5-10 minutes, then enjoy!

Notes

Keep donuts stored in an airtight container. They are even better the next day!
To make gluten-free: use Bob's Red Mill 1:1 Gluten Free flour.
