Ingredients

Chocolate Donuts:

  • 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder (32g)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (30g)
  • 2 Tbsp Dutch black cocoa (12g)
  • 2 Tbsp granular sweetener (24g) I used Swerve
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup canned pumpkin or unsweetened applesauce (180g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp egg whites (92g)

Glaze:

  • 6 Tbsp confectioner's sugar (56g) I used Swerve
  • 1 Tbsp cold water

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray eight cavities of a donut pan(s) with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Mix the dry ingredients together (protein powder through salt). Add the applesauce, egg whites and vanilla and mix well to combine (I used a hand mixer for this but you don’t have to).
  • Pour batter into the donut cavities filling only 7/8 of the way full. Bake for 15-17 minutes or until toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  • To make the glaze, mix the confectioners sugar and cold water together.
  • Let the donuts cool for a 10 minutes in pan then remove from the pan and spread the glaze on top. Allow the glaze to set for 5-10 minutes, then enjoy!
