Skip the Starbucks line, and make this Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso right at home! Made with just a handful of ingredients, this iced espresso is bold, slightly sweet, and perfectly frothy. It’s quick, easy, and the perfect drink to whip up right at home.

Ingredients

Brown sugar syrup:

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar (192g)
  • 1 cup water 8 oz.
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Shaken espresso:

  • 1 cup ice
  • 2 oz. fresh brewed espresso
  • 3-4 Tbsp brown sugar syrup (45g)
  • 1/2 cup milk (120g) Whole milk, oat milk, or milk of choice.

Instructions

Brown Sugar Syrup:

  • Add the brown sugar and water to a saucepan. Whisk together and bring to a boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in the cinnamon and vanilla.
  • Pour into a heatproof container. Let cool then cover and store in the fridge.

Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso:

  • To a cocktail shaker or mason jar, add the ice, espresso and brown sugar syrup.
  • Cover and shake vigorously.
  • Pour into a glass (including the ice). Add extra ice if desired.
  • Pour milk over top. Sprinkle a little cinnamon over top, add a straw and sip up!
